Crafters For Life is a limited liability company (LLC), not a non-profit – 501(c)(3).  This is something that we thought long and hard about before starting.  We talked to all of the people we know who were smarter than us including lawyers, accountants, business people as wells as founders of non-profits.  In the end, we decided to start Crafters For Life as a LLC  due to the ease of setup, flexibility to changes as needed and the speed in which we can be up and running.  We started the LLC paperwork on April 22, 2015 and had the EIN, tax id, company paperwork back from the state, web site, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram setup in weeks, not months.  It is important to keep things as LEAN as possible.  We do not want to be 5 years down the road and still not sure if we are going to meet our goal.  One of the young men who inspired this project will graduate from high school in spring of 2016.  So we gave ourselves until the end of 2015 to prove to ourselves that we can produce products that people want and the infrastructure to sell these products in a scale-able form.  We simply felt that this would not be possible with a non-profit.

We have received several requests for an easy way to make donations.  Quite frankly we would prefer that you purchase some of our great products from our online store and help us to spread the word.  However, if you would prefer to donate, you may use the button below.  We appreciate all of the likes, comments, tweets, posts and sales.  Now we even appreciate donations!  Even though your donation will not be tax deductible, you can be sure that it will go to the same place that the proceeds from sales go – to pay for supplies, infrastructure costs, marketing and everything we need to build Crafters For Life, LLC to the point needed to generate jobs upon graduation.  Lots and lots of jobs!
